Search engine optimization (search engine optimisation if you’re within the UK), SEO really involves quite a bit of exhausting work – but the rewards can be nice, therefore it’s well value putting within the arduous work & effort.

They get sucked into what I decision “the loophole black hole” along with all of the time & effort, and money, that was invested – and, in some cases together with ALL of the time & effort that was place into promoting your web site on the search engines – as a result of in some cases websites can be penalised or even de-indexed once the search engines discover that there has been cheating going on.

What you have to remember, is that Google, MSN, Yahoo, in fact all of the search engines, are businesses – their product is top quality relevant content, and their customers are guests who use their search engines to look – web site owners are concerned in an exceedingly relationship with the search engines which, as all relationships do, operates on a give & take basis. You provide the search engines top quality relevant content that they can offer to their guests, and in come, they provide you traffic.

When search engines discover that websites are involved in ways to cheat them into giving to you traffic, while not receiving, they are doing NOT like it. Lets face it, any business who found out that somebody was tricking them into giving without receiving, would be pretty irritated, and would probably not wish to continue that relationship.

So when they discover that a web site has been achieving artificially high ranking by using a loophole, or any technique they see as shortcuts & cheats, they can sometimes ensure that any rankings the web site currently has, go back right down to what they must be naturally without using the loophole, and generally they will go further and de-index all together.

What I talk to as the loophole black hole, is the time & effort, and rankings, that are eventually lost as a results of using loopholes & shortcut.

Thus – if you don’t wish your onerous work & efforts and any results you’ve got already achieved to be swallowed up by the loophole black hole, persist with sensible old fashioned safe, white hat SEO, and steer clear of the shortcuts – if it looks too good to be true, it sometimes is!
